Happy New Year! This post is an oldie at Instructables, but new here! Make some bread for the New Year?

I am so happy to share this recipe with you. Asian Sweet Bread is a staple in all Asian bakeries. The bread is soft and pillow-y and just melts in your mouth with a slight sweet flavor. The crust is perfectly brown and flaky. It’s gorgeous to look at…and delicious to eat. A perfect snack on any occasion and it can hold its own next to any store bought rolls or loaves.

This recipe is close to my heart as well. I have always gotten some sweet treat when going to Asian bakeries. I always came home with all kinds of bread…all of which derived from this simple recipe.

Yummy huh? Well that’s all I have for now.

Back to holiday baking!! Cookies anyone? (I’m making some lion ones as I type 🙂

Talk to you all soon!

Hmmm. Potatoes…Potato Mushroom Tarts

17 Dec

Well I’m back with the recipes! This time is a yummy and gorgeous potato mushroom tart. The crust is a great buttery one with emphasis on the “flaky.” The actual filling is delicious, too. It’s a variation of a duchesse potato recipe and a bed of mushrooms on the bottom. The great thing about this appetizer/hors d’oeuvres is that you can change up the flavoring to your taste. I added some green onion and diced, sauteed garlic but be creative with it.

Mini, Mini, Mini!

7 Dec

Since I’m on a recipe posting marathon, here’s another quite popular one:

Super Mini Oreo Cheesecake

We all have seen those gigantic pieces of cheesecake in local bakeries or restaurants. They look  absolutely delicious. But then you think of the however many miles you will have to run to burn the calories from eating half of the slice. Never fear, the Super Mini Oreo Cheesecake is here! These cute little cheesecakes are perfect for snack or finger food at parties. And they don’t have nearly as much calories in them as the regular kinds. These cheesecakes are sure to please whoever has a craving for cheesecake.

There are many variations to make this cheesecake. I also used Butterfingers and some extra Halloween candy to make these (they tasted just as great).
